Programme Rainbow Tour 2008

The 4th edition of Rainbow Tour took place from 11 till 18 October 2008, conducted by DOMINIQUE LEHERRE.

SATURDAY 11 OCTOBER 2008

• 17:00 - 20:00 Reception of the rally participants at the hotel « Kyriad Saint Malo/Ouest-Dinard» in La Richardais. Distribution of your starter pack, including your rally sign, road book and relevant information for the duration of this week.
  
• 20:30 Dinner at the hotel Kyriad’s restaurant « le Skypper ».

SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER 2008

• 09:30    Starting of the first morning drive.
• 10:30    Stop-over at the menhir of Champs-Dolent.
• 11:00    Stop at the panorama point on top of Mount Dol, offering a wonderful view of the region.
• 11:30    Guided tour aboard a sea-train at Cherrueix.
  
  

• 13:30    Luncheon served at the restaurant « la Renardière » at Cherrueix.
• 15:30    Start of the afternoon drive towards Cancale.
• 16:00    Guided tour of the «sea-farm» with an oyster tasting at Cancale.
  
  

• 17:30    Continuation of the afternoon drive.
• 18:00    Stop-over at Groin’s point offering a wonderful view of  the ocean.
• 18:30    Starting of the final lap of today’s drive towards la Richardais.
• 20:30    Dinner at the hotel Kyriad’s restaurant « le Skypper ».
  
  
  
  
  

MONDAY 13 OCTOBER 2008

• 09:30    Check-out and departure from the hotel Kyriad at La Richardais. Please do not forget to settle up with the hotel regarding individual expenses.
• 10:30    Guided tour of Combourg castle.
  
  

• 12:00    Luncheon, served at the restaurant «le Romantic» in Combourg, near the castle.
  
  

• 14:00    Start of the afternoon drive through the Breton countryside towards Josselin.
• 16:30    Guided tour of Josselin Castle.
  
  

• 17h30    Continuation of the afternoon drive towards Vannes.
• 19:00    Arrival at the Mercure hotel of Vannes.
• 20:30    Dinner at the Hotel Mercure’s restaurant in Vannes.

TUESDAY 14 OCTOBER 2008

• 10:00    Starting of the morning drive.
• 11:00    Promenade on the grounds of Suscinio Castle.
  
  

• 11:30    Continuation of the morning drive towards Arzon.
• 12:00    Lunch at the restaurant « Azureva » in Arzon.
  
  

• 14:00    Quick haul to Port Navalo.
• 14:15    Boarding for the round-trip of the Bay of Morbihan on a boat. (FIXED SAILING TIME! PLEASE BE ON TIME)
  
  

• 15:15    Berthing at île aux moines (Friars’ Island), going ashore for a promenade and explore the island.
  
  

• 17:30    Returning by boat to Port Navalo, end of today’s programme.

• NO EVENING PROGRAMME, GIVING YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISCOVER THE CITY OF VANNES FOR INSTANCE.

WEDNESDAY 15 OCTOBER 2008

• 08:30    Starting today’s morning drive towards Saint Nazaire. (warning to the time for the start!)
• 10:30    Guided bus tour of the Atlantic shipyards. (tight schedule!)
  
  

• 12:45    Lunch served in a brasserie on the submarine base of Saint Nazaire.
• 14:30    Free tour of the museum «Escal’Atlantic» ocean liners at Saint Nazaire.
  
  

• 16:00    Start of the afternoon drive towards the saltpans of  Guérande.
• 16:45    Stop-over at Pradel in the middle of the saltpans in front of the museum of ‘the world of salt’.
• 17:00    Continuation of the afternoon drive, passing over the Arzal dam, towards Vannes.
• 20:30    Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
  
  

THURSDAY 16 OCTOBER 2008

• 10:00    Start of the morning drive towards Crac’h.
• 10:45    Free visit of the gallery and photo exhibition of the Breton photographer « Plisson » in Crac’h.
  
  

• 11:15    Continuation of the morning drive towards Carnac.
• 11:30    Promenade along the renowned menhir range of Carnac.
  
  

• 12:30    Quick haul towards the pancake shack Tumulus in Carnac.
• 12:45    Breton lunch (waffles and pancakes)
  
  

• 15:00    Starting of the afternoon drive towards Quiberon along the rugged coastline of the Côte Sauvage.
• 16:00    Guided tour of fish preserving factory « Belle Iloise » and tasting of their products.
  
  

• 17:15    Continuation of the afternoon drive via Saint Anne d’Auray towards Vannes.
• 20:30    Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
  
  

FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER 2008

• 09:30    Start of the morning drive towards la Gacilly.
• 11:00    Guided tour of the « Yves Rocher » production site at la Gacilly.
  
  

• 12:30    Continuation of the morning drive towards Lohéac.
• 13:00    Lunch at the restaurant « le Chevrefeuille » in Lohéac.
• 15:00    Quick haul towards the museum « Manoir de l’automobile » (Motorcar Manor..) in Lohéac.
• 15:10    Free tour of  the « manoir de l’automobile » in Lohéac.
  
  

• 17:30    Start of the afternoon drive via the menhir line-up of Monteneuf  towards Vannes. 
• 20:30    Fancy dress dinner party at the hotel’s restaurant.
  
  

SATURDAY 18 OCTOBER 2008

• The last collective breakfast of the event. No programme today. Please do not forget to settle up with the hotel regarding individual expenses when checking out of the hotel.  You might either want to continue your exploration of the region or embark on your return journey.
